Age 7-11 activities

For this age group we run the RLSS UK Rookie Lifeguard Programme during our pool sessions from September to April. This teaches children how to enjoy water safely, including personal survival and rescue skills plus basic CPR and first aid. The full set of nine core awards is covered over the four year period, along with various other bolt on awards.

From May to September we run beach and surf sessions following the SLSGB Nipper Pathway, giving children the opportunity to learn surf safety and lifesaving skills in the sea. Over three summers children will pass through the Bronze, Silver and Gold stages preparing them for the more advanced surf lifesaving awards once they are older. Our Nippers particularly enjoy using our wide range of surf craft when the surf’s up!

Lifesaving Sport is a key part of both our pool and beach activities with dedicated sessions for all groups. Children can choose whether to take part just for fun within club sessions or develop their skills and attend competitions further afield.

If you are interested in joining, please see the information at Join NSVL.
