The trustee posts of Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Equipment Officer and Fundraising Officer were up for election, along with the annually elected non-trustee position of Lifeguard Captain.

James Parkinson and Geoff Wade stood unopposed for the positions of Secretary and Public Relations Officer respectively, and were duly elected without challenge.

There were no nominations for Fundraising Officer, however Pat Raeside has once again agreed to be coopted into the role. Although she cannot attend meetings regularly, Pat does a lot of work behind the scenes getting thousands of pounds worth of grants for the club.

Grahame Wood has stood down as Equipment Officer, unable to continue in his role due to other work commitments. Grahame has also put in a lot of work behind the scenes down at the beach base. As there were no nominations for this post, the Committee will try to identify a suitable person to be coopted into the role at the next meeting.

Finally, for Lifeguard Captain, there were three nominations: the current post holder, Donna Robson, Becci Powell and Liam Arrowsmith. After a secret ballot of the lifeguard qualified members at the meeting, Becci Powell was elected into the post and has appointed Donna Robson as her Vice Captain.

In a further addition to the Committee, Sean Fahey has agreed to take on the role of Competition Secretary in order to develop the competitive side of the club.

As the club enters its tenth anniversary year in 2008, it is great to see some new faces on the committee which will enable us to push forward with our objectives.
