Boxing Day Swimmers

 

The 2006 Boxing Day Swim will be taking place on 26th December (if you hadn't guessed) from the NSVL Headquarters at Whitley Bay.

Once again we will be having a specially commissioned t-shirt for the event, but this year we are looking for our members to come up with the design!

The design can be a slogan or a simple one-colour drawing , but time is running out if you want to have a chance at winning.  Entries can be sent in via e-mail to This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it or to the stall at the pool and must be received by Sunday 26 November.

To avoid the scramble for t-shirts on the day, this year t-shirts must be pre-ordered and paid for in advance. This means that everyone can get the correct size and wear it with pride after the event.

As an added incentive to go out and get sponsored for the event, those gaining more than £25 sponsorship will get a refund for the cost of their t-shirt. 

This year, the money raised for the swim will be split three ways: some of the amount raised will be put towards equipment which members will see the benefit of straight away, some will be put towards the building project and a donation will be made to the RLSS Commonwealth to promote lifesaving in the developing world.

Sponsorship forms are available at the tuck shop, beach base or in the Downloads Area of the web site.  However, some people may find it easier to set up an online fundraising page to get those donations from distant friends and relatives.  Simply go to www.smartgive.com and click on the Get Sponsored link and use NSVL as your chosen charity!

Remember, you don't have to get sponsored or buy a t-shirt to take part, but the more people who do the more money we can raise!
