On Friday 21st September over 90 NSVL members gathered at the Boardwalk Cafe on the beach at Whitley Bay for the club's end of season party.

With barbecue, buffet, disco and bar, it was a chance for members old and new, young and old, to get together and party, and also for us to welcome back our 'term time' student members after the long summer break which had seen them lifeguarding in places as far away Ireland and the Wirral.

But it wasn't just an excuse for a party - there was the serious business of our inaugural Presentation of Awards to celebrate the successes of our members.

With so many new members present, MC Malcolm Dunn gave a brief history of the club before presenting the awards.
