We recently sent out questionnaires to all of our members so that everyone could have their say in the running of the club, and the results have now been collated...
Overall, the general impression from the questionnaires was that
people are very satisfied with the way the club is run. Some suggestions were met with an extremely positive response while others ideas were not, and as such our priorities are to follow up the popular suggestions.
A full question-by-question analysis of responses is available to download at the bottom of this page, but the following are the things that will be impleneted as a direct result of the questionnaire.
- Many people suggested holding a sponsored swim, and this is something we will arrange once a specific theme has been identified. If you have an idea for a theme let us know!
- A positive response to the question asking if you would be interested in attending an open members' forum means that this is something we will be arranging after the summer.
- There was a preference noted for more regular newsletter type communication, however the cost and time taken to produce monthly newsletters is too prohibitive at the moment. Quarterly newsletters will continue along with the regularly updated website, however we will increase the use e-mail reminders and reintroduce the board on the easel at the pool session to keep people up to date.
- Many members weren't aware who the committee members were, so to help with this we will be putting up our very own rogues' gallery on our new notice board at Tynemouth Pool and at the beach,
- Many of the other ideas and suggestions are things which are already in progress or have already been implemented.
Thanks to all those who took the time to complete the questionnaire and hopefully you can already see some of the changes you suggested being implemented.
Remember, if you have any suggestions about the club feel free to speak to any committee member. You can find their details on the Committee Page or you can send e-mail to the whole committee via
