Here at the RLSS UK we're busy reviewing Rookie, our junior lifesaving programme.

With the Amateur Swimming Association's National Plan for Teaching Swimming already under review (and being piloted in the North Tyneside Council Learn to Swim programme), it's a good time to refresh our own junior scheme. We're researching extensively and looking closely at the award in order to produce something fresh, flexible and customer focused.

As well as being educational and fun, junior lifesaving may be the first step on the path to vocational training and lifeguarding sport. It's our chance to build strong foundations for a vibrant lifesaving and lifeguarding future.
