Nippy new nipper boards

NSVL's Rookies now have access to a range of new equipment for use at the beach and in the pool, thanks to grants from the Willan Trust and RW Mann Trust.

Any budding body-boarders?

Thanks to the Rubber Soul surf shop in Tynemouth, Rookies and adult members of NSVL now have 10 new professional body boards for use in training.

The body boards will be used by the Rookies at the beach through the summer and in the pool through the winter.

In total, this means the Rookies now have the benefit of 10 Nipper boards, 10 body boards, 2 wave skis and 8 junior rescue tubes.

Rookie Competition Success

Congratulations to our Rookies who went along to the Blyth Rookie Festival at the weekend and came home in fourth place despite there only being 9 team members.

Special mention must go to Beth May-Lennox who won three of her events, including the hotly contested beach flags and won Best Girl for her age group. You can read the press release on the main news page.

Gift aid it!

Now NSVL is a registered charity there are a number of benefits, including the ability to claim gift aid on all donations to the club.

Photoshoot

Thanks to everyone who attended on Bank Holiday Monday for the NSVL photoshoot - with over 30 members of all ages present it was a great turnout.

After weeks of waiting, we have now received confirmation from the Charities Commission that NSVL is officially a Registered Charity.

North East Regional Beach Lifeguard Competition

03/08/06 - Due to appalling weather and sea conditions, the Lifeguard Competition was cancelled on Wednesday night and postponed until next Wednesday, 9 August. Same time, same place (From 6.30pm at Tynemouth Longsands).
