An inshore rescue boat similar to what we would require As part of the building works on the promenade where our beach base is situated, we recently had a purpose built ramp constructred for
launching a rescue boat...but at the moment we have no boat to launch from it...
Grants from the Barbour Trust and Sir James Knott trust have kick started our campaign to raise enough money for a brand new inshore surf rescue boat so that we can
provide first
class training for candidates attending our courses and additional
safety cover on evenings
and
weekends for the beaches of North Tyneside.
The club is
looking to local businesses or individuals who would be willing to
sponsor a
new boat with the opportunity to have their name or logo permanently
displayed
on the distinctive craft.
A new rescue boat will cost anywhere from £8,000-£10,000 and will
be fully equipped to launch and operate in the surf conditions of the
North Sea.
If you would be willing to sponsor the purchase
of a
new rescue boat or would like to support us in some other way, please e-mail

Fundraising for our Rescue Boat appeal:
Thanks to substantial grats from the GoodFund, Barbour Trust and Sir James Knott Trust, along with our own fundraising, the New IRB Fund now stands at £6,300. This is
about enough to buy the boat and engine, but we need to raise a further
£2,000 to purchase the necessary ancillary equipment, provide secure
storage for the boat and to train our instructors and drivers. If you can help please let us know!
- The GoodFund
(from the Postcode Lottery) has given us a £2,500 grant towards our new
Inshore Rescue Boat.
