The Boxing Day Swim girls

Watched by over 100 spectators, the dippy dippers donned special t-shirts while they dodged the waves and after a few minutes it wasn't just the fish on the t-shirts suffering from hypothermia.  Even so, some hardy souls spent nearly 20 minutes in the water, despite water and air temperatures of only 7 degrees Celsius.

Almost £1,000 has been raised in sponsorship for the swim which will be split between the planned new NSVL Training Centre and the Royal Life Saving Society Commonwealth to promote lifesaving and swimming in the developing world.
