Pool Lifeguard

NSVL runs pool lifeguard courses leading to the RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (Level 3).

This qualification is accepted at pool across the UK and the world and is a great qualification to achieve whether you are looking for a job as a student or for a career in the leisure industry. It also counts as eight UCAS tariff points for university applications.

Our courses usually run for three hours on a Saturday evening with one course running from September to December and another January to April (term time). These courses are part of our junior pathway, so our members are able to attend the course as their usual weekly sessions as they approach their 16th birthday.

These courses are also open to external applicants and can be paid for in four instalments over the duration of the course.

This is an alternative to intensive courses that are run at other leisure centres and gives applicants a longer period to build up their skills and fitness in a supportive environment.

If you are not able to meet the pre-requisites you are welcome to train with us in a supportive environment to improve your technique, speed and stamina and then join a later course.
