At the end of August, long time supporter of NSVL, John Ellis, will once again be completing his swim from St Mary's Lighthouse to Cullercoats Bay to raise money for the club.

We need our members to go down to Cullercoats beach whenever they can to help raise money as John is now unable to do it himself.  All the collection tins and sponsor forms are there, all you need to do is turn up in club kit - any day of the week between 9.30 and 6pm.  Ask for Donna or Kerry who will be able to sort out the collection tins.

Two teams from NSVL and three teams from North Tyneside (made up mostly of NSVL members, took to the sea for the annual North East Regional Beach Lifeguard competition on 13th July.  Photos now available online.

The fundraising efforts of swimmers braving the icy waters of the North Sea on Boxing Day is now helping save lives in the rather warmer waters of the River Nile.

Our committee is responsible for managing NSVL. All members of the committee are volunteers who give up a little of their time towards the running and development of the club. Recently for a whole host of reasons long serving members have moved on, or given notice of their intention to do so.

NSVL Rookies took their first steps into competitive lifesaving at the Blyth Teams Cup Challenge on 19th April.

An opportunity for lifeguards and those with coaching qualifications to work as an Activity Leader for summer school throughout the UK.

We have plans to develop a competitive squad for national competitions, but in the short term we have some local competitions fast approaching.

We have always tried to ensure that our members have access to the best equipment, resources and opportunities available and now we need you to help.

From Thursday 3 April the popular evening beach sessions will be running for all lifeguards and anyone else over-16 who would like to take part.
