The O'Neill British National Surfing Championships, has now been moved to Putsborough, N. Devon, this weekend the 25/26th November.  Hopefully there will be some surf there!

North Sea Volunteer Lifeguards based in Whitley Bay has been presented with over £1,500 worth of resuscitation training equipment to help develop its community Heartstart scheme.
 

They're the team that helped keep North Tyneside's award-winning beaches safe and clean this summer - and now there's a chance to join them.

This site is currently about 95% operational and all the information from the old site has been transferred, along with a host of new stuff.

We are currently working on adding the photo gallery which will be the last part of the site to be transferred (in the meantime it is still available at the old site. 

Users are encouraged to register and log in so that you can download documents etc.  Registration requires only your name and e-mail address and you don't have to be an NSVL member.  If you are an NSVL member, by registering you will be able to download club documents and submit stories and social events.

Rookie Lifesavers from the North Sea Volunteer Lifeguards based in Whitley Bay are on the crest of a wave after getting hold of some specialist surf boards.

The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ 7th Edition) meets all the criteria required for the training and certification of pool lifeguards and is accepted by most swimming pools as the benchmark qualification needed to work as a lifeguard. The qualification is recognised in the National Qualifications Framework as the Level 2 Certificate in Swimming Pool Supervision and Rescue and can be used as evidence when working towards a number of S/NVQ units.
