Drowning Prevention Week – free surf safety sessions

As part of this year’s RLSS UK Drowning Prevention Week, North Sea Volunteer Lifeguards will be running free, fun and informative sessions on staying safe at the seaside. 

The session will include games and activities on the beach and in the sea. Wetsuits will be required but if you don’t have one then there will be wetsuits available to borrow.

Children will be expected to be able to swim on their front and back but the sessions will focus on safety skills staying close to the shoreline so there will not be lots of swimming involved.

The sessions will take place at the North Sea Volunteer Lifeguard clubhouse (behind the lifeguard tower at the south end of Tynemouth Longsands) on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June. Please click on the links below to book:

Spaces on these sessions are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

If sessions are popular then we may run further sessions later in the summer, so if they are fully booked please register on the Eventbrite waiting list so we can let you know of any further sessions.
